Since before I could even form memories, I have been drawn to and captivated by reptiles, I know this to be true because I don’t remember ever not liking them. My childhood was filled with time spent outside catching frogs, toads, turtles, snakes, and lizards. Snakes really peaked my interest at around 10 or 11 years old, when I held a tame and curious snake at a children’s museum after a reptile presentation. At 15, Boa constrictors took center stage as my favorite species. A friend of mine got a boa and I fell in love. At 21, I got my first boa. Now in my 30s, I couldn’t imagine my life without boa constrictors being a part of it.
